Having won the JDC West Business Competition two years ago, the Paul J. Hill School of Business at the University of Regina is setting its sights on hosting the best event in the nine-year history of JDC West next month.
Nearly 600 students from 12 Western Canadian Universities have arrived in Regina to compete in the 9th Annual JDC West Competition hosted by the Paul J. Hill School of Business. JDC West is a three day event, running from January 17 to 19, that sees teams compete in academics, athletics, debate and social competitions and also includes a charity and community involvement component.
Emily has a charismatic personality that makes her able to build relationships with even the toughest of people. Her people management skills make her an excellent leader. A go-getter with a positive attitude, she can always bring something exciting and different to the table. Emily is a pleasure to work with. I'm proud to be associated with you.
I’m continually amazed at all the work Emily has put into supporting the growth and success of various communities both in and around Regina. Her experience ranging from industry and non-profits through to academics has equipped her to lead a diverse set of teams spanning various domains and perspectives. I had the privilege of working with Emily as part of hosting the U of R’s inaugural JDC West business case competition. Since this time, I’ve seen (and heard) of Emily’s tremendous work. She’s a fearless leader who’s always looking to attract talent to help tackle the toughest projects. I was recently invited as a guest speaker to share a few stories on agile project management. Her personality and passion to deliver an engaging course was apparent the moment participants joined the call – being greeted with a colorful countdown, coupled with music. It’s these small touches that make all the difference, and leave a lasting impression. It’s so very Emily. I can’t wait to see you continue soaring to new heights, Emily!
I have had the privilege of working with Emily on the JDC West Board of Directors for the past two years, where she has inspired continuous organizational growth and team development. As Board Chair, Emily led by example - setting ambitious goals, working hard and holding the team accountable. Emily's commitment and passion towards everything she does is exceptional, and I know it will take her great places in her career! It's has been a honour to learn from Emily and I hope to work with her again in the future.
Emily is one of the most talented people I have had the pleasure of working with. She carries big projects with the kind of ease and humour that makes working with her an absolute treat. From closing million dollar gifts, to doubling her yearly target, helping create meaningful strategies and being a total whiz on excel (inc. colourful spreadsheets, pie-charts, graphs - you name it) she has a lot of talent. Also grit - this is a girl who will roll up her sleeves and re-code a website in a jam or stay all evening to make sure every last prospect has been called. Emily's leadership, charisma, follow-through and organisation makes her a real asset in any business that is lucky enough to have her.
